Tsukemen Kinryu popup with guest chefs Hiromitsu Mizuhara and Chikara Iyama from Tokyo, Japan

Friday, October 04, 2024, from 01:30pm until 10:00pm
Saturday, October 05, 2024, from 12:00am until 10:00pm
Sunday, October 06, 2024, from 12:00am until 10:00pm

For a second time Hiromitsu Mizuhara, owner of Koike group, and Chikara Iyama of Yatagarasu will come to Berlin for another exclusive event at the Chipperfield Kantine in Berlin-Mitte. This time we will serve the stellar Kombusui Tsukemen from Tsukemen Kinryu (つけめん金龍), another renowned Ramen shop of Koike. It’s not only on Tabelog’s current Tokyo Top100 list, but also ranked no. 7 on RamenDB all over Tokyo and even no. 12 in all of Japan!

The fixed menu for €59,00 per person includes Kinryu's signature Kombusui Tsukemen, their famous roasted pork Chashu rice bowl as a side dish, Chili pepper oil as Ajihen (for mid-meal flavor change) and a small dessert. Tsukemen means “Dipping Ramen”, it is one of the most beloved styles of Ramen in Japan. The noodles are served cold alongside a bowl of hot soup. You then dip the noodles into the soup. This will be another truly unique bowl with flavors and textures you rarely find outside Japan at (if at all).

We are also working on some exciting specials, which you can order on the side (for an additional charge).

As is customary in Japan, chilled water is available as a beverage inclusive. Beer, sake, wines and non-alcoholic alternatives can be ordered on site for an additional charge.

The majority of seats will be sold as tickets in advance. Each seating has a time limit of 75 minutes (with an additional buffer of 15 minutes). Seats will also be available for walk-ins on Saturday and Sunday.

Tickets for the first day of the event, Friday, October 04, are already sold out. The rest of the tickets are available now via the reservation system.

Inside the Chipperfield Kantine guests will experience the atmosphere of a real Japanese Ramen shop with an open kitchen to watch Mizuhara-San and Iyama-San preparing the bowls (get an impression of our last popup here). This also means that its going to be pretty cramped and rushed inside, since cooks and servers will hand out food and drinks to guests as soon as its ready (just like at Ramen shops in Japan).

Unfortunately no vegetarian/ vegan alternatives will be offered during the event. The soup contains fish, shellfish and pork/ chicken. No pickups or takeaway possible.

Koike group, founded and run by Hiromitsu Mizuhara, operates seven shops in Tokyo, Japan: King Seimen, Chuka Soba Nishino, Tsukemen Kinryu, Koike and Koike no iekei. They all serve different styles of Ramen and are regarded as some of the best in the country - three of his shops are listed in Tabelog’s recent Top100 and two (!) of them awarded with the Bib Gourmand by Guide Michelin (out of only 19 shops in the whole of Tokyo).
